Beautiful courtesan and deadly assassin, Nilla has a heart of stone. She lives to avenge the deaths of her murdered parents. All the death and destruction along the way? That’s just practise.
Until she fails to kill foreign scholar Malik.
He tells her it’s because the two of them are soulmates, unable to harm each other.
Nilla isn’t sure whether she believes in soulmates, but she knows her own life is forfeit so long as Malik stays alive.
And it gets worse. Their soulmate blessing turns assassin Nilla from a valuable tool into a lethal liability. One the dangerous men she works for will kill to silence.
A slowburn romantic fantasy featuring queer characters, a sparky sidekick, a cat our hero would (literally) walk through fire for, and a damaged heroine with unmanageable hair (that's not her biggest issue, but she'll start small and work her way up).
