I build empires out of concrete and steel. My world is about blueprints, bottom lines, and the unshakeable value of authenticity. Then I met Jazelyn Carter, a woman who builds her empire out of clicks and curated moments.

She’s a social media influencer, a brand, a walking TiKitty channel who documents her entire life in a series of slick, aspirational vlogs. I was supposed to be a guest star in her latest "dating experiment," another piece of content for her followers. But underneath the performance, I saw the real woman, and against my better judgment, I started to feel something real. The problem is, with Jazzy, the camera is always on. Our connection was real, but her need to filter every moment, to turn our intimacy into a viral vlog, almost destroyed us before we even began.

She thinks she can control the narrative, but I'm about to teach her that some things are too real to be captured in a 60-second clip.
