I wasn’t obsessed, like they said.

I wasn’t drunk or drugged.

I could think clearly.

She hadn’t consented. I don’t think she liked me, if she even remembered me.

She didn’t know me.

And honestly, I didn’t know her.

I knew enough to know that she was one of a kind. No one was like her, and no one ever would be.

It was that thought that sealed her fate.

A subtle somberness filled me, and I opened my eyes. There was no one like her. I would never find her equal. There was only her. And the thought of someone having her instead of me filled me with such an intense, bloodthirsty rage, I lacked words to describe it.

I would never let someone take her from me.

It was like an epiphany.

She was mine.

She could be.

She would be.

I could do it now.
