Seeing Mason again after twelve years wasn’t supposed to hurt. I was supposed to be over him. I had enough to deal with without worrying about what Mason was doing, or what Mason thought.

Why did he have to be here? I had run from my family and his only to be standing right in front of him once again.

This was not what I wanted for my life and I hoped like hell I could guard my heart.

Why was Julie here? What had she said or done to brainwash my teammates and make them like her? She was the worst ever.

And then she was offering me a life line. One that I couldn’t say no to, even if I thought I could.

I would use her help and turn her away when I was finished with her. I just hoped I could actually do it.
