Owning the last fly fishing store in southern California, Claire Mortenson seems content with her life. Until on her fortieth birthday, out fly fishing at her favorite spot on the local San Gaberial River, she is interrupted and ticketed for trespassing by the newly assigned, and very handsome, Ranger Gaberial Hernández.
Unable to afford the ticket Claire opts for community service only to discover that she will be reporting to Ranger Hernández to work on Save the River Project. A committee action group she has vocally denounced.
Reluctantly she helps and the more time she spends with Ranger Hernandez, her attraction to him grows.
