Violet Evans has always felt like an outsider among her family, her friends, and in the world as a whole. But when she stumbles into the magical realm, she finally starts to feel like she has a place in life. Until she accidentally shuts the portal home, cursing the world with the ever-dark: a sky that stays dark purple all day, with the sun frozen on the horizon, never rising, before shifting to black at night.
