When the answers lie beyond the fog‘s veil, one must trust oneself not to get lost.

Aurora Pierce, now a shell of her former self, has earned the title of the locked away queen of the concrete jungle. Her life on the ice was now just a memory as she spends her days pacing around a luxury apartment in the heart of Crestwood, waiting for her prince charming to eventually return and sweep her off her feet. However, the time she spends in isolation continues to grow as a dense fog begins to settle in between the skyscrapers.

Following the events at the Winter’s family vacation over the summer, Aurora and Austin’s abrupt departure sent cataclysmic waves throughout the Winter family dynamic. Aurora, ready to leave her old life behind, along with all the secrets she never got answers to, begins envisioning her new life with Austin, only the feelings aren’t mutual. It doesn’t take long for Aurora to realize Austin isn’t anything like his sister, and the cracks in their relationship quickly begin to form. Posing as a new mystery for Aurora to immerse herself in, she’s determined to figure out what’s going on with Austin while fighting off her internal doubts, desperately trying to claw their way back into the light.

Battling through the seasons, the heatwave is long gone, but a heavy Autumn fog has rolled in to take its place on Halloween no less. Aurora, needing to overcome the feeling of being trapped underneath Austin’s oppressive thumb, struggles like a bird in her cage, eager to spread her wings once more. Hopeful for her future, she must resist the seduction of her past, something she’d be more than capable of doing if it weren’t for Austin actively trying to push her away. With his actions making less sense to her by the day, and faced with an encroaching nightmare, Aurora fears her and Austin will become the reverse of enemies to lovers. Her only option is to put her own thumb on the scale of their relationship, in hopes of restoring balance or risk toppling it all together when the emotional weight becomes too much for either of them to bear.
