This is the Fourth and Final Part of the Groomed and Caged Series.
Kate wanted to go to Africa to study wildlife but now finds herself caged in a hellhole zoo where she is the one being displayed and studied. Her dream of getting a degree in zoology in a top London university lies in tatters while her captive status becomes more permanent as each day passes.
Having been taken under the wing of Nero, a lad who had voluntarily become a Monkey-boy trainer, a glimmer of hope appeared. Kate imagined that Nero, if he became attached to her, might one day help her to escape from the clutches of the faceless smugglers.
Another hurdle is placed in Kate’s path to freedom though. Nero has to hand her over to the ‘Interior Zoo’ for a six hour session of cage training. She is told that she cannot become a racing Monkey-girl unless she understands the penalty for failure.
‘The General Council’ have created a massive, isolated environment in central Africa. Protected by high electrified fences and armed guards, the smugglers mini world was built with the aid of the DRC government, the members of which use the facilities on a regular basis.
Kate’s destiny is in the balance. Will she be selected to race in the Monkey-girl team, or will she be chosen as one of the ‘special’ exhibits in the ‘Interior Zoo’? Whichever future is chosen for her, Kate’s ambition to gain a zoology degree in London lies in tatters…
