The Will To Live by Denise Essex
Phoenix is itching to pay off the ridiculous amount of debt she’s racked up in tuition. Her bestie has the bright idea to answer an ad seeking a companion for a man with two months to live. While Phoenix is repulsed at the request that the old man’s aid be stunning, she relents because she doesn’t want to start her dream job only to have her checks allocated to loans.

Will isn’t old, but he has been given until just before Christmas to live. His doctor insists that he hire an in-home aid to keep him company since he refuses hospice. Will’s family members have no idea he’s sick. They don’t care about the man, only the financial stability he can provide. Will has given up on life, until Phoenix breezes into it.

The two of them don’t want each other, but they need what the other has to offer. What started out as an obligatory contract just might change their lives forever.

Three and a half years later, Phoenix still hasn’t moved past her affair with Will. An interruption to a dinner that could change her life forever has her wondering if she’s lost her mind or if she’s been given a second chance with the man who owns her heart.
