What if Mrs. Gardiner's Lambton relations had been a little more well-to-do and what if she had stronger and longer ties to them? In this variation, a young Elizabeth begins to spend summers with the Gardiners in Derbyshire. As a result, she develops her own ties to that part of the world and its people, including the Darcys of Pemberley.
Many P & P characters feature prominently beyond Elizabeth, the Gardiners and the possible love interest our heroine inevitably encounters (read Fitzwilliam Darcy!). There are also plenty of original characters and expanded roles for some who only merit a mention in P & P.
This is a standalone story. The first in a series of standalones that explore “What if’s” that change more storyline than my original “What if” series. If you love Pride and Prejudice, slow burn, friends to lovers and low angst this is the book for you!
