This is a story of a woman who gets pregnant when she goes out to celebrate her divorce. On the way home, she rescues a man who had once saved her. She takes him home with her to care for him. Three months later, the story opens with Laranda realizing that she is pregnant. Then she is arrested for shooting at the men who were working over Carmelo. He is arrested and kept in jail.
Deciding she has an obligation to clear the father of her babies' she hires an attorney to represent them both. This happens when she is six months along and very pregnant, and she has yet to see the physician. Carmelo is happy he is going to be a father and despite all of the family issues, he hopes they will work out. However, his grandfather is a mafia Don and several people want to take him out because of his family.
Can Laranda and Carmelo keep each other alive? Will the four babies reunite all of the families. This is a clean fast read.
