Beth moves back to her hometown to help her sister recover from the tragic loss of her husband. What Beth never expects to find is herself considering a relationship, especially after escaping the last one, which had quickly grown boring and stale. Middle age is approaching Beth, and she swears off anything other than a quick one and done, until a hot guy shows up pushing all her boundaries. He's everything she wasn't looking for; minus the dangerous job he loves. Can she live with him constantly exposed to danger knowing each assignment could be his last?

Paul thrives on the excitement his DEA job entails. Chasing criminals and bringing them to justice gets his adrenaline flowing. While a fellow officer recovers from an injury in the line of duty, he meets a gorgeous woman who fills his every desire. The best thing about her—she has the same idea of a night of fun as he does—get in, get out, move on. But when disaster strikes his own team, Paul feels the need for more with her. Can he ask this perfect woman to accept not only him, but the dangerous job he holds? Will she believe he's worth the effort?
