Omnibus Volume One
M.E. Larkspur
M.E. Larkspur’s Omnibus Volume One contains three standalone novels: Hide Your Heart Away, Birds of the Air, and Maid of Honor.
Hide Your Heart Away is a story about Nikki Simmons, a Chicago bartender who finds herself caught up in a back-alley crime. For her protection, she’s moved to a safe house in the small town of Foxbury, Wisconsin. Accompanying her is Max Franklin, fellow witness and the person now responsible for her safety. What begins as guarded distrust between the two of them gradually thaws into friendship as they spend their weeks in hiding. In order to overcome the ghosts of their past, Nikki realizes they must rely on the strength they draw from one another.
Birds of the Air tells the story of Haven Mitchell, a Minneapolis cake decorator who finds herself catering to the perfect stranger. Sweet and mysterious, Ashe Warner is anything but empty calories - a smooth and charming exterior hides a dangerous secret. When the bitter truth arises, trust crumbles. Haven finds herself in a sticky situation when she must choose between the safety of frosting cakes or indulging in a love built on layers.
Maid of Honor is the story of Avery Turner, a Minneapolis project manager who finds herself torn between what’s right and what’s expected. Determined to keep her best friend from making the mistake of a lifetime, Avery agrees to help plan a wedding she secretly hopes to derail. To keep the peace - and her pride - she enlists the help of her coworker, Simon Hensley. Unable to let a friend down, he reluctantly agrees to play the role of her “special someone.” As tensions rise and favors turn into feelings, Avery questions whether the real risk isn’t the wedding, but losing the people she loves most.
