I flew home to fix my best friend’s disaster and accidentally got trapped with my grumpy ex.

After my boss put me on a two-week timeout, I thought helping my best friend with Saint Patrick’s Day festivities would be a harmless distraction. I was wrong, it was the furthest thing from safe.

When I walked into the building, I slammed into my college ex and we both ended up soaked in beer. He was still stubborn, infuriatingly handsome, and apparently now my temporary boss.

Between dog sitting, a vindictive business owner, and a towed car, coming home wasn’t exactly what I expected.

Every crisis forced us together. Turns out, this close proximity was bad for emotional stability, but great for unresolved feelings.

If all this chaos somehow turned into our lucky second chance , I was going to need some new checklists and possibly a new life plan.
