ZORIAN FLETCHER
A loving father of two. A recent divorcee. And an introvert in his mid-fifties. Submissive to a fault.
Raised in a hardly secular family, Zorian is not happy about becoming a vampire. He finds no pleasure in being unable to walk in the sun, having to drink human blood, or being constantly cold.
He doesn’t see going from “pleasantly above average and also kind of pretty” to “outright beautiful” in terms of his looks as a plus, either. Being beautiful doesn’t do anything for a middle-aged, painfully timid man with no interest in getting remarried… Unless he desires to draw the attention of another man.
And, once the loneliness truly hits, Zorian just so happens to know a man who might be willing to endure his company. If Zorian grants him mutually enjoyable access to his body, that is.
The middle-aged man has no desire to mend the bond he had severed once already. Only to stave off the loneliness. But, as the bodies grow closer, the tables of the hearts start turning.
EDWARD BENNETT
Edward is a tall, well-built man in his early thirties. He has golden hair, striking, bright blue eyes, and the tendency to keep out of the spotlight. A necessary measure if he wants to keep on living a semi-normal life off the clock in his line of work. The work only he can do, thanks to something different about him most would be horrified by.
He isn’t happy. He knows he won’t be happy. He can’t be happy. Not since the only person he ever actually wanted in his life had left him. For the idea of his abusers and their spawn, nonetheless. He’s not happy. But he’s not miserable. And he’s fine with that… Until that person reaches out to him.
Torn between compassion for his former crush’s condition and preserving his own dignity, he’s ready to reject the former object of his love. However, once the chance to fill his greatest desire his body had ever felt is willingly and eagerly presented to him, in a beautified package, at that… He’s pretty sure he can “keep it professional” now, too.
Just like his back then married, middle-aged college professor wanted him to. There was nothing to it back then. And there’s nothing to it now. Or so Edward tells himself. But is he right?
