Hekate “Kate” Weaver is a thirty-something Witch about town and owner of The Apothecary Shoppe, one of the most popular witchy shops in Birmingham, Alabama. She is busy preparing for the upcoming Samhain season when she receives an unusual request: a bride wants to know if her wedding gown has been cursed. And so, Kate decides to look into the problem. Good news? The gown is clear. Bad news? The bride herself has been hexed.
Kate enlists the help of an employee of the neighboring book store, Dex, which proves to be tricky because not only is he gorgeous, he’s also a talented psychic. And the last thing Kate wants is for Dex to pick up on her attraction to him. They’re supposed to be friends. So she keeps her shields up, hoping that he won’t sense her fascination.
As she dives deeper into the mystery, Kate discovers some surprising truths about Dex, and despite it all, she still is determined to break the hex that was cast over the bride. However, just about time things start to get better, they suddenly get worse—Kate has now become a target of the maleficence herself.
Kate will need the support of her patron deity, witchy friends, and use all of her magickal abilities to figure out who has cast the curse…and how to stop them before someone dies.
