For most of her life, Elizabeth Bennet was convinced she was the illegitimate daughter of Mr. Bennet, and she was treated as shunned by much of her local society and ignored by most of her family.

Shortly after meeting the intriguing Mr. Darcy of Pemberley at an assembly in Meryton, Elizabeth learns that she is not who she thought she was. Her real father steps forward, and Elizabeth is obliged to take her place in society as the daughter of the Duke of Essex.
