Elizabeth King has spent two years holding her life together with sheer determination. Since losing her parents, she has worked long days at the bakery to keep her family home from foreclosure while caring for her aging grandmother. Pride keeps her from asking for help, even as the debts grow heavier.

When a reckless truck destroys her buggy on a dark October road, Elizabeth fears everything she has fought for will collapse. Without a buggy she cannot reach town to work, and without work the bank will soon take the house her family built.

Then Amos Miller, a quiet buggy maker new to the district, offers the last thing Elizabeth wants to accept. Help.

As small acts of kindness turn into something deeper, Elizabeth discovers that Amos carries wounds of his own. Together they must face secrets, danger, and a threat from the past that refuses to stay buried.

Sometimes the road to love begins with something as simple as a borrowed buggy.
