Kit and Liam are business partners at an antique shop and lovers at night -each living in their own apartments. Both had been married before, but since both spouses died, they had turned to one another and shared a special kind of relationship. When Kit tells Liam she is looking for a more permanent commitment from him now, they break up. Both are in their fifties. Around the same time that Kit meets a charming new, and somewhat younger, man who lives in the same apartment complex as she, Liam begins seeing a widow who needs some help with her new business. Being business partners by day and dating others by night, the strain grows between them, and their grown children begin to notice.
