Slade Delany is an FBI agent living in North Carolina. He and Cole Gregory have been friends since their army days. Working at different field offices, Slade is planning a visit to Cole with the intention of taking their relationship to the next level. When Cole mysteriously disappears Slade is concerned, but assumes Cole is on special assignment. Then, while hiking in the Smoky Mountains, Slade has an encounter that will change his life forever.

Dallon, a wizard for the Blood Prince and member of WRAITH, finds himself compromised when Slade sees him appear through the Blood Gate. Dallon has no choice but to take Slade to the Vargr Realm to be neutralized, but once there things don’t go as planned.

Will Slade be able to overcome his mistrust of the Vargr long enough for Dallon to convince him to stay, or will the Dark Forces in the Vargr realm destroy them both?
