Full Count by B. Izzo, Bri Izzo
Bianca Ferrari and Skyler Swanson, whose softball/baseball families have been tight-knit since before they were even born, have multiple dynamics to their relationship. Their dads created a recreational traveling baseball and softball program where Skyler excels as a catcher and Bianca thrives on the pitching mound. With Bianca's mind set on impressing the high school coaches and college scouts, she uses Skyler to become an unstoppable pitcher. Skyler is the best friend of Bianca's older brother, Alex, which makes any romantic feelings between them completely off limits. As they enter high school, Bianca and Skyler grow closer through softball while Alex becomes an asshole who is more concerned about keeping them apart than letting two of his best friends be happy together. He pushes Skyler so far that he leaves his own birthday party to go to the families' shared cabin where Bianca and her teammates show up the next morning. Alex's other best friend, Benny Locket, tries to save Skyler from going off the deep end and succeeds temporarily. Then the unimaginable happens. A near death experience shatters any boundaries for the Swarrocket crew. Benny tries his best to keep them all on the same team. Skyler cannot believe this happened. Alex is even angrier than before. And Bianca will never be the same again. Can a lifelong friendship turned crush survive this many curveballs? When Bianca's life turns upside down, she has to remember her motto, "Live life like I'm in the batter's box and the count is full." Only she can decide whether she's going to strike out or be a home run hitter.
