After his brother Ethan’s bachelor party, however, Rob wakes up naked in a motel bed with town librarian Malory French. Neither of them have any memory of what happened or how they got there, but it’s obvious they had sex. Malory is convinced someone drugged them. They agree not to tell anyone about their lost night and go their separate ways.

A day later at work Malory receives an envelope filled with scandalous pictures of her and Rob Boone in the hotel room. The pictures are so lurid that she knows if they’re made public they will destroy both their lives. She then gets a phone call from a blackmailer threatening to post them all over town unless she pays him an enormous amount of money. Rob comes to town to check on her, and finds Malory so distraught he must take her home. He studied the pictures again, and shows Malory that they’re both unconscious, and were posed to look as if they were having sex. After spending the afternoon taking care of her, Rob ends up in bed with Malory again. This time the sex is real, and so wonderful that it makes them both realize they were meant for each other.

Rob learns a greedy rancher he saw at the roadhouse that night has been trying to buy Malory’s land for years, and grows suspicious. With his brother Chris’s help, Rob exposes the blackmailer and has him arrested, but can he convince Malory to give them a real chance? Or will his bad luck with the ladies chase off the one woman he wants to cherish forever?
