A Talent For Loving by Virginnia de Parté
This is where it all began: the prequel to The Future Movers Series.

A fast paced love story set in Melbourne, Australia, in the future, when genetic alteration has created a sub-branch of society: g-alters, who desire nothing more than to be left alone and treated as everyday citizens. Always looming over them is the threat that the Defence Department might discover their hidden talents and conscript them into a lifetime of service. Who to trust and how to live 'under the radar' rules much of their daily life where falling in love is a luxury and not to be treated lightly

William's talent is to jump between locations. Belinda's talent is to move objects with her mind. Can they learn to trust each other enough to develop a talent for loving?

At The Nursery, in Shepparton, the Defence Department genetically alters babies carried by surrogates. The children are then reared and watched to see what talents they might develop that can help with the defence of Australia. If by the age of seven no useful talents are obvious the children are released for adoption to childless couples.

However, some talents are late developing and a few children hide their growing skills, wanting nothing more than to become part of normal society. Two such children meet as adult g-alters and are attracted to each other but despite their share memories of the Nursery can they learn to trust each other enough to fall in love?
