“Coffee?” Nathan offers, turning to face me as he closes the door behind us.
“Please,” I answer quickly, suddenly experiencing dry mouth. His voice is enrapturing. Husky but smooth and I eye him cautiously.
His gaze meets mine. “How do you take it?”
I hold in a groan. For a split second, I wonder what he’d say if I said ‘right here on the table’, but I settle for ‘white, one sugar’ instead.
