Picture of Innocence by Mary Christian Payne
Picture of Innocence will touch your soul, warm your heart, and make you smile in a story about one young lady’s discovery of what is important in life.

Set in England and covering the years 1912 to 1914, this novel follows the life of a brother and sister, Pippa and Rand Herrington. The reader will experience their meagre existence in London through the sudden and unexpected inheritance of a magnificent manor house and the Title of baronet in Somerset, England. Pippa’s beauty brings her fame as the subject of a portrait, which causes great excitement in the art world. The artist who paints her portrait finds her utterly enchanting, but Pippa is overcome with exposure to the aristocratic life of the gentry.

Rand, the new baronet, immerses himself in learning to oversee his inheritance, but finds himself unexpectedly in love with a lady considered improper. To complicate matters, a manipulative and wicked woman succeeds in destroying his hopes for happiness.
