Valentine’s Day is around the corner! And Georgina Bauer comes from a large family. As the middle child she’s mostly overlooked, except when it comes to her love life. And she’s okay with staying out of the limelight. It suits her personality, which is why she enjoys being a personal assistant to one of New York’s most influential women.
But when Georgie’s parents decide to celebrate their fortieth wedding anniversary on Valentine’s Day with a big family celebration, she knows she has to attend. They went on a couple of dates during his brother’s destination wedding as well as several when they returned to New York, but a few months ago she put him firmly in the friend zone, which means she won’t have to worry about losing her heart.
Dean Legend works for Legend Enterprises at his father’s company. It’s more than a full-time job trying to impress his father. But Dean is gritty and vows to prove himself to the man anyway, and that means taking chances. Resolute, he goes behind his father’s back to acquire a company he is sure will be good for Legend’s bottom line. When Georgie asks him to be her fake fiancé for her family festivities, he jumps at the chance. The trip will give him an opportunity to see the prospective business up close. Plus, Georgie caught his eye while they were in Maui and even though she friend-zoned him a while ago, he can’t stop thinking about her. She’s sweet, beyond beautiful, and a blast to be around. The whole trip feels like a win-win until he discovers Georgie has ties to the company he wants to purchase.
