Spirit: Native American Historical Romance by Chey Wells
Spirit was a warrior in the Iroquois village. He was supposed to marry, but the girl decided she wanted his friend instead of him. When Shaman Otetiani came to speak with him about joining with a young widow with a son a year old and was with child again by her late husband, he thought it was a good deal. He met Nadie and fell for her right then. He gathered his clothes and headed back with the Shaman and his wife and Nadie. He held the boy and thought he would make a good father.

Nadie was only nineteen, but she was a widow from the attack on the southern village of the Tuscarora by the northern village of the Tuscarora. She lost her whole family that day except her son. She found him in the Tuscarora village in New York, but she needed to find a husband to help her take care of her children. When they took Spirit to the Tuscarora village, everything seemed to be against them. Were they ever going to get married? Nadie did not think so. Spirit is losing his temper with Nadie to the hug and kiss he got from Catori his cousin to the ex-girlfriend showing up on the wedding day it was all too much for Nadie.

Do they ever get things together and get married or is it doomed from the beginning?
