Fall of the Dark Sun by Kendall Pearce
The Fall of the Dark Sun:
Vampires have officially taken over the earth. What true humans once thought could possibly become a dawning of a new era quickly turned into a nightmarish dusk, which promised to never shed light on their lives again.

Mina and her tribe have worked hard to secure the vast piece of land that they would now give their lives to defend. However, they knew that their peacefulness was short lived, they just did not realize exactly how short until a band of vampires, led by former vampire, Constance, show up on their land.

The vampires claim to be trying to cure Porphyrias, but Mina doesn’t buy it. Mina’s tribe automatically feels threatened and Mina would do anything to protect her people. She is not even above kidnapping Julian, the vampires’ Quencher, who claims to know the location of the serum used to cure Porphyrias. Although, Julian claims the vampires also need his blood, specifically, for the cure to work. After Mina’s deed is done and the pair has everyone, including Mina’s tribe, chasing them, Mina and Julian must put aside their differences and discover what they truly want.

Ultimately, they must ask themselves; are they looking to enact vengeance on the vampire race, or are both vampire and true human races willing to enact a lasting compromise?
