Rosebud is the last book in the Next Generation Blackfoot Confederation Series. Although my books are all stand-alone, it is better if you read them in order.
Kineks (Rosebud) was a young, eighteen winters old, Blackfoot maiden. The story takes place in the early 19th century. Locust was her best friend and the love of her life as they grew up together. Rosebud always thought they would be joined and have a happy life together. However, sometimes life happens, and it is not all that you have prayed it would be.
Locust was an honorable warrior who had worked his way up to the second scout of his village. He has loved Rosebud since he was old enough to know what love was. But her red path is pulling her in a direction that he did not want a wife to go. He tells her she cannot do what she wants if she is to be his wife, so she breaks it off with him.
Seeking out comfort in a widow’s arms leads to more trouble for Locust than he could have foreseen. Now it has cost him the love of his life, and he sees no way to get Rosebud back.
