Naomi: Strong Choctaw Women (Strong Choctaw Women #2)
Linda Walker

This book is about a young girl who was born deaf. Because of being deaf, she could not speak. Her cousin, the chief’s son, decided to teach her to sign. Everyone in the village said he would not be able to teach her because, in the mid-1700s, it was believed someone who could not hear or speak was not smart enough to learn anything.
It was a long, challenging journey for the young girl, but she learned to sign against all odds. However, the troubles she had to endure throughout her life were even more traumatic than being deaf.
When her village is attacked by an enemy tribe, she finds herself left alone with a baby and a small child. She must find a way to hide them, shelter them from the sun and rain, and, most importantly, feed them.
After almost a month, she has nothing left and knows if help does not arrive soon, they will all pass over. The real problem is no one knows where she is or that she is even still alive. All she can do is to continue to pray.
Will help get to her in time to save all three of them? If so, who will it be, and what will happen to her next?
Read the book to find the answers.
Warning: This book may cause you to want to cry sometimes. However, it will also make you understand that God is there for anyone who calls upon His name!
