Carina Rossi is done being up in the air. Literally. She adores traveling and is a flight attendant, but she yearns to leave the skies and turn her travel-vlogging hobby into a full-time career. She hasn't saved up enough yet, so her dreams feel so far away. But when Carina gets fired, she's desperate to figure out how to turn her future plans into her current reality.

Ben Whittaker is a successful video game designer who had a crush on Carina in high school, but hasn’t talked to her in years. He’s desperate to attend a fantasy gamer conference in New Zealand as a panelist, but is hesitant to travel alone. After seeing Carina’s vlog, he pushes aside old feelings and offers her a job as his personal tour guide for the trip. Carina accepts, as she needs the funds, and they're soon off on an adventure.

As the two get reacquainted, Ben learns more about what really happened to Carina when they were young, while she discovers the side of Ben he shares with few others, including a life-changing decision he soon must make. As the trip progresses, so does their friendship, until they find that more stands in their way than they expected. They each might just get what they wish for, but at the expense of their hearts.
