Bodee Santee: Mountain Man: Bodee and the River Pirates: A Mountain Man Adventure Sequel (A Bodee Santee: Mountain Man Westward Novel #3)
Jack Paxton

Basil spins an interesting story about being a spy for a group of men working to separate Texas into an independent state from Mexico. He is to deliver important papers concerning the rebellion to Jim and Rezin Bowie.
In payment for his services Basil is to receive a large grant of prime Texas land. But the same river pirates who took the mountain men’s furs have stolen Basil’s papers. Even worse, an agent for an opposing group, Anton Morelock, now has possession of the documents.
The river pirates have already sold the stolen furs and the mountain men are left with nothing to show for their winters work. In promise for part of the land in Texas the mountain men join Basil to get the papers back from Morelock.
The men pursue Morelock across the mountains to Memphis, then down the Mississippi River to Napoleon, Arkansas where he is to meet his contacts. The frontiersmen get help from an old friend in Memphis, Captain Mick O’Kane, a former river pirate who is now running a legal keelboat business. Mick gets the mountain men to Napoleon just in time for a wild fight to break out over the stolen papers. Who will win the battle for the stolen documents? Knife fights, bar brawls and shoot-outs are part of the non-stop action in Bodee and the River Pirates.
