I was, anyways, until we ventured down the wrong road and were attacked by thieves. And not just any thieves. Elves. They'd gotten inside the wall and they wanted something. A metal that all my family jewelry just happens to be made out of. Now, to get their hands on more, one of the elven brutes has kidnapped me for ransom. He's handsome and doesn't have claws like the stories say, but he's still a savage.
I thought I had things under control. I thought I'd be the most annoying prisoner until my father shelled out the jewelry to buy me back. Only none of my plans panned out and Taegen's stupid, charming smile and his smooth words are making me realize how empty my life was before he took me from it. Maybe what I really need is a bit of danger.
