The Gothic Intrigue: A Regency Comedy Mystery (The Fentons #6)
Alicia Cameron

Baron Balfour, a great giant of a man, and his new wife, who used to be Euphemia Fleet, a put-upon companion, are on their honeymoon in France when the baroness spots a villainous looking individual, just like her idea of a character from a Gothic novel. He is in the company of a frightened young beauty and Euphemia decides to rescue her.
The tale of the girl's kidnapping is a complex one, but its ramifications are amazingly Gothic indeed. The baron and baroness enlist the labyrinthian mind of the the magnificent Mr Wilbert Fenton, who frequently employs the detective Mr Mosely, a crafty ex-Bow Street Runner. Everyone, including Euphemia's best friend and Gothic novel reader Felicity, Viscountess Durant, her husband Sebastian and Mr Fenton's wife, the lovely Lady Aurora, enjoy their very own Gothic mystery which is rather more dangerous than they suppose.

With all this romance and fun, who needs the erotic additions of other writers. I can safely give these delightful novels to my young daughters to read. Wholesome.
Like an old screwball comedy directed by Preston Sturgis. Such a delight!
Warm and romantic and inspiring. Alicia Cameron does it all...
