Cindy, now known as Pixie the ponygirl, has been sold by her former owner (see "A Risky Assignment"). She is hopeful that a new location will give her the opportunity to escape - something that she has been unable to manage - and return to her former life. She does not want to be a ponygirl. She wants to return to her previous life as a journalist. But when you are in tight restraints all the time escape is not an easy proposition.

When she gets to her new owner's stable, she is paired with Desert Rose. Desert Rose was also a journalist, until she was tricked into pony tack by the Sultan. As you read about how this happened, you can yell at your e-reader, but she will ignore your warnings. She, like Cindy does not want to be a ponygirl. However, she learns that pony tack, once installed keeps the ponygirl very well under control.

Those who keep and train these two wonderful ponygirls do not care what the ponies want. What they want, is a champion racing pair, and they are determined to have just that. The ponies will just have to learn how to do this.

As much as the ponygirls do not want to be treated as animals, they also hate and fear the punishment that is imposed upon them if they don't do as they are told. They learn that pain can and will get them to do what is wanted, and that the fear of punishment will cause them to perform. This is enhanced by positive inducements, but you will have to read about those. Both our ponies hate the fact that this system works; that defiance is useless and that in the end they will comply with the requirement of their trainers. Resistance only leads to pain, followed by compliance. Why not just comply?

With sever bits in their mouths, fastened to, and holding down the tongue, the ponygirls are unable to speak. Even though they are side by side most of the time, they cannot easily communicate, and because they wear hoods that limit their vision, again, not their choice, they cannot even see each other. Yet, they learn to work together as if they were one.

What will happen to them? Will they find a way to escape? Will they succumb to the desires of their owners. Will they - can they - become a champion ponygirl racing team? Climb into the Ponies' minds and follow them through their expierience.
