Amy just moved to northern Michigan, to the burgeoning wide forest surrounded by the city of Emerald. She’s on her way to an interview for a low-rung job at the respectable Emerald News, a surviving paper in the post-modern era. Amy’s ambition is to become a journalist, and her hopes are dashed as her car breaks down on the way through the deep forests outside Emerald.
She meets the hot sheriff, and he offers to give her a ride to her interview. He ends up giving her much more than a ride, and Amy’s left in pain, bewildered the next day as her body begins to change into a wolf.
Emerald isn’t the idyllic city it appears to be on the surface, and Amy’s now confronted with the truth of her lycan ancestry. She has to navigate her new reality, her needs, and try to survive all the ups and downs of being lycan.
