Wild Thirst by Aria Storm
Ghosted by her ex for six months, still raw from heartbreak, Kacey Takada-Daniels is pushing through her Boston-based graduate studies. She's just trying to live her best life and attempting to work on healing as best she can.

Six months of no contact, then suddenly a vampire attacks Kacey in her apartment, which she once shared with her long-term live-in girlfriend. The vampire Kacey struggles with drains her to the point of death, but not before Kacey manages to stab it through the heart with a kitchen knife in one final defiant act—only to realize it was her estranged girlfriend; not so much a "ghost" as a fanged creature of the night, it turned out.

Waking up in the morgue was the last thing Kacey expected to do; much less to be naked in front of a very Irish and smug vampire/medical examiner.

Kacey is an orphaned, newly turned "type one" vampire (one sired from humanity, not born of vampirism). She displays an immediate unquenchable thirst and an innate strength which scares everyone in the vampire house that took her in—also drawing the undesired attention of the master vampire.

Kacey has to flee the North for sunnier weather in Florida, along with two noble vampire siblings and a newly turned novice vampire. Together, this strange band of misfits must find a way to survive the forces of the Night Kind, which would love to see Kacey and them all dead.
