He’s used to a life of solitude by now.

So naturally, he’s on edge after discovering a little black book under a tear in the carpet. Not only is the thing radiating heat, it’s blank. Every single page. Frustrated and freaked out, he resumes sharpening a few pencils when his blade slips, cutting his thumb and spraying red all over the splayed book.
