Nothing is more magical than springtime in the mountains, except maybe spring weddings. I’ll need a bit of that magic if I want Warren to finally break out of his shell and ask me out on a real date. Sure, I could ask him out myself, but I was raised to let the man ask the woman out. It is so ingrained in my DNA that I would probably mess the whole thing up if I tried.

As the town librarian, I run a book club at the town bar, Whiskey Mountain. Warren has joined the book club and hasn’t missed a single meeting. He’s also always around me, with a warm smile and a friendly greeting. I know he’s interested in me, but how do I convince this shy mountain man to ask me out?

My spring magic comes in the form of one of my best friends’ weddings. She happens to be marrying Warren’s brother. As the Maid of Honor and Best Man, we are forced to spend more time together, just the two of us, as we plan their shared wedding shower and bachelorette/bachelor party. With the magic of a spring wedding spurring us on, how can we not fall in love?

Marigold is as warm and welcoming as her namesake. It’s unfortunate that every time I try to move beyond just being her friend and ask her out on a real date, I freeze, knowing a woman as beautiful and caring as Marigold wouldn’t be interested in someone like me, who is 10 years older than her. No, it’s better that we just stay friends.

It isn’t until my younger brother’s wedding approaches that I start questioning my decision to just stay friends with Marigold. Watching both my brothers find love has made me want more from Marigold. But how do I convince her I’ve changed my mind and that I want her as more than a friend?
