There’s another guy in his life now, though, and he’s making up for lost time with his son Grady. I’ve been trying to find my place with them, and most days I think I have. Other days, it’s hard to ignore how Crew might want something easier for him and his son, a future without hotel rooms, stadium lights, and road games.
When Grady’s mom gets into a car accident, everything becomes more uncertain. None of us know if she’s going to make it, and I can’t stop thinking about the choices Crew may need to make and what that’ll mean for us. If he walks away from the game to focus on his son, I’m not sure if there’s still a place in his world for someone who’s gone half the season.
Losing them would wreck me, and if they’re no longer mine, there’s no comeback from that.
