It also wouldn’t be a problem if I planned on staying in town long enough to break through the walls he’d built around his heart.He’s been burned, and I can’t shake the feeling that instead of everyone keeping their distance, he needs compassion, which is the exact wrong thing to come from someone passing through.But when he embarrasses himself to protect me, revealing a glimmer of hope, I have to decide if I’m going to encourage him to let more light into his darkened heart, or if I should keep my distance so we both don’t end up hurt.This March, don't blink when you pass through Pearl Springs, Colorado.
