Going against my dad has always been terrifying. I’ve avoided it at all costs, but now that he’s threatening Kai too, will I be able to keep him safe? And at what cost? Kai. I’ve wanted Maddox since I first laid eyes on him, when Mel introduced me to her twin brother. He was stubborn, pretended we were nothin’, but finally gave in right before our junior year of high school. Things were goin’ great and, of course, just as things were gettin’ good his dad sent him away and he ended things before he left. Now he’s back and we’ve found our way back together. We’re finally in a good place, until we aren’t. I fought to have him, and meddling family members hell bent on revenge are threatening what we have. Again. I won’t walk away, and I won’t let Maddox walk away again, either. I planned our way out, but as the time to act gets closer, everything changes. In an instant, even the best laid plans can go to hell.
