A thousand thoughts whirled through my head as soon all the parliament members and servants were gathered. The Duke and Mr. Perry informed them of the tragic news and called us all to prayer. My sisters clung to me, weeping. It broke my heart to see their pain, and yet I refused to believe I had lost my brother. God could not be so cruel as to take him away from us scarcely a year after losing my parents.
“Princess Estelle,” I heard and looked up to find the Duke of Safford. “We must prepare,” he said.
