Augusta by Sherri Beth Johnson
Follow the Andley Sisters as they come of age, seek God's will for their lives, find danger, and perhaps even love.

Book Four in the Andley Sisters Series is Augusta. Here is an excerpt of her story....

I smiled brightly as I sang the last word in my aria, holding out the high note until I nearly felt faint. The crowd rose to their feet with applause and I bowed. The curtains closed and with a deep breath and shivers of delight, I quickly escaped with my fellow musicians to the dressing rooms.
“I will wait out here for you,” I heard a familiar voice say and I turned with an impatient sigh.
It was Jackson Carey, the young man from my hometown in Crawford. Jackson had won a scholarship the same night as I had. My family had asked him to escort me to the conservatory two years ago. And for two years, he had self-appointed himself as my protector, as my father-away from home, and sometimes…. well most of the time actually, as my annoying shadow.
“There is no need to wait for me, Jackson. It must get terribly boring out in these halls. You know how long we girls take getting ready,” I said, trying to send him on his way.
“I will wait for you, just like always,” he assured me.
Of course he would. I sighed impatiently and nodded. I quickly closed the door and growled, shaking my head in frustration. I was seventeen years old now, in the second year of my studies at the conservatory. I did not need a guardian, especially not Jackson Carey.
