Zora Flynn, the 50-something publisher of the local newspaper, has planned a series of stories about hunting in cottage country. But when she stumbles on two corpses before the first interview, it’s obvious that more than wild game has been killed.
Sonny Rigg, a teenage delinquent with a long history of foolish shenanigans, is making a big effort to redeem himself. But he’s the number one suspect in the latest murder. Zora is worried. She believes that instead of being the culprit, he’s likely the killer’s next target. Against their better judgment, Zora and the reporters set out to clear Sonny's name and bring the real killer to justice.
Their task is complicated. Zora and Rocco, her pampered prince of a poodle, end up homeless. A raucous moose-calling contest has unexpected results. And a murderer tracks Zora and those closest to her.
(It probably goes without saying, but the Poodle Versus… series is good, clean fun, except for the occasional suspicious death. No graphic violence, sex or swearing.)
