Autumn Harvest by Marcella DiPaolo
The Revolutionary War is finally over. Jack Hunter grew up during the war…he learned how to hunt, track, shoot, and to survive during the war. He had the best teachers in Hayden Livingston…his brother-in-law, and Chief Haiti, the leader of the Cherokee tribe living near them. The group of friends who had left Sweetwater when the British soldiers had been taking colonists and making them serve in the British Army during the war when they needed more soldiers, had crossed the Appalachian Mountains in order to get away from having to fight their own neighbors and friends. They had found their own little piece of heaven in a valley they called Liberty.

Jack grew up in Liberty and became a man. He loved his life, but one day while hunting game for the town, he came across a young girl who had been left for dead. She was unconscious from the beating she had received and raped. She was barely hanging on to life by a thread. Jack took her back to his sister to heal, and hope that she would live.

Delaney Kincaid was the name of the girl he found. The men who had left her for dead…arrived in Liberty a few weeks later to make their home. They didn’t know that she was still alive. When they discovered that she was still alive, they made plans to kill her again…they could leave no one alive to tell of their treachery. But they didn’t plan on Jack becoming a thorn in their sides protecting the girl time and time again.

Nor did they plan on Jack and Delaney becoming attracted to one another. This is something that the man who hired them will not allow. He would move heaven and earth to get rid of both of them. One way or another, they would die.
